Prospective Student-Athletes
We are excited that you are considering joining the great tradition of Florida State University Athletics. To make your journey toward becoming a student-athlete here at FSU as smooth and easy as possible, we want you to be aware of how the process for prospective student-athletes works. The first step that you should take is at the end of your junior year; this is when you need to register with the NCAA Initial-Eligibility Clearinghouse. You can register online at The NCAA Clearinghouse or print a hard copy of the release form and mail or fax it to the NCAA Clearinghouse. You will also want to make sure you are eligible to participate in college sports. From this site, you will be able to determine whether or not the classes you are taking will be applied toward your core requirements. The next step is to apply to Florida State University early in your senior year. You can apply online at FSU Admissions or print an application out and fax or mail it to Florida State University. The final step in becoming a student-athlete here at Florida State University is to sign the National Letter of Intent that is offered by the coach that is recruiting you. You may also want to seek additional financial aid. You can find out more information about financial aid online at FSU Finances. If you have any additional questions or concerns please feel free to contact the Florida State University Athletic Compliance Office at 850-644-4272. |
