Robin Gibson, ATC/L is currently serving as an Associate Director of Sports Medicine for Florida State University. Upon completion of her B.S. from San Diego State University, she was hired as an assistant athletic trainer at Florida State in June of 1988. Gibson splits her time between her administrative athletic training duties and caring for the Florida State University Soccer Team. Prior to this year she served as the athletic trainer for the softball team from 1989 until June 2008. She worked with the team for six of their seven Women's College World Series appearances (1990-93, 2002, 2004). She also is a member of the Florida State University Athletic Department Substance Abuse Committee, the Florida State University Eating Disorder Committee and the Florida State University Athletic Department Freshman Orientation Program. Additionally, Gibson is a course instructor for the Department of Nutrition, Food and Movement Sciences. She teaches Athletic Training I, Athletic Training II and Athletic Training Practicum V. She also is directly involved with the supervision and clinical education of the students in the athletic training curriculum. Gibson has been a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association since August 1987. She is a State of Florida licensed athletic trainer, an American Red Cross certified professional rescuer, an Approved Curriculum Instructor by the NATABOC, a member of the College/University Athletic Trainers' Association and a member of the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA). |
