Eunice Hernández has served an assistant athletic trainer for Florida State University since September of 2003. She is the head athletic trainer with the Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track and Field and Women's Golf programs. She has garnered multiple conference titles in her time at FSU, but in June of 2006, the Men's Track and Field program won the NCAA Outdoor title for the first time in the university's history. In addition to her athletic training responsibilities, Ms. Hernández supervises a satellite athletic training room in Tully Gym as well as four graduate assistants and athletic training students. She is currently involved in facility development for the future athletic training room which is to be housed in the new Mike Long Track fieldhouse. Prior to arriving at FSU, Ms. Hernández attended graduate school at the University of Miami (FL). While completing a Master's of Science in Education with an emphasis in Sports Medicine, she also served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at UM with the Football and Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving programs. She was on the staff for the 2002 Rose Bowl National Championship as well as the 2003 Fiesta Bowl National Championship. In addition, she coordinated the Directed Observers' observation hours in the athletic training curriculum at UM. Ms. Hernández completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training at Barry University (Miami Shores, FL) in 1999. She is a native of Miami, FL. Ms. Hernández is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association. She is also licensed in the state of Florida as an Athletic Trainer. Additionally, she is a certified professional rescuer and a CPR/First Aid/AED instructor through the American Red Cross. In her leisure time, Ms. Hernández enjoys engaging in physical fitness, cooking and entertaining guests. Other interests include music and motorsports. |
