Jake Pfeil joined the Florida State sports medicine staff in 2004. His primary responsibility is coverage of the Seminole baseball team. Prior to his assignment with baseball he served as the Insurance/Risk coordinator. Before joining the FSU staff, Jake was employed by Tallahassee Orthopedic and Sport Physical Therapy and was the head athletic trainer at Tallahassee Community College. Jake graduated from Florida State in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in sport management and served as a student athletic trainer for baseball and football. He then received his master of science in sport administration from Mississippi State University in 2002, while also serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer. Jake was twice a pre-season intern with the Atlanta Falcons and was a seasonal intern in 2002. Jake is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and a licensed athletic trainer by the State of Florida. Jake and his wife Cheryl were married in July of 2004. He is a native of Madison County, Florida and avidly enjoys fishing, hunting, and following NASCAR, college baseball, and football.
