2002: Indoor & Outdoor – Took a redshirt her senior season…competed as an unattached athlete at various meets during the season…qualified for the USA Nationals in the discus with a personal-best mark of 176-01. 2001: Added to her impressive list of awards and honors by snaring All-ACC honors in three events and qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Championship…her throw of 163-10 in the discus earned her 11th overall at the NCAA Outdoor Championship…her toss of 168-90 was good for second overall in the discus event at the ACC Outdoor Championship…enjoyed a dominating outdoor season in the discus throw, capturing first place in six of eight meets prior to the NCAA Championship…her toss of 46-08.25 in shot put competition was good for third overall at the ACC Indoor Championship…followed with a third-place finish at the ACC Outdoor Championship in the shot…the third-place finish at the ACC outdoors was her lowest finish of the outdoor season, as her record included five first-place finishes, one second- and one third-place finish. 2000: All-everything in her sophomore season, accumulating All-ACC honors for both the indoor and outdoor seasons … named an NCAA All-American in the discus … won the Conference Individual Championship for the shot put in both the indoor and outdoor seasons, helping the women’s squad to its first ever ACC Team Championship … set a new Florida State all-time record with her discus of 172-10 which earned her a first-place finish at the Seminole Twilight Meet … tossed the shot 48-09.50 at the ACC Outdoor Championships, earning her first conference crown and launching her into the record books again with the third-best mark in Florida State Track and Field history … competed in the NCAA Outdoor Championships finishing fifth in her flight (9th overall) with a toss of 165-09 … is the Seminoles’ top returner in both the shot out and the discus … added a fifth-place mark at Virginia Tech, throwing the implement 44-08 … ended the season with a season-best mark in the javelin of 111-10 at the ACC Outdoor Championships for an eighth-place finish … Batten ended the season with the squad’s third-best mark in the javelin and is one of the top-two returners (Karen Rademeyer). 1999: Recorded a third place finish in the shot put event in her first collegiate meet...finished first among collegiate competitors at the Florida Invitational...placed second in the shot put event at the ACC Indoors...turned in her best performance of the year at the Seminole Twilight Invitational with season best distance in the shot put (46-1.50) and discus (159-11)…efforts at the Seminole Twilight meet went down as the second best discus throw and sixth best shot put mark in FSU history... took home first place in both the shot put and discus at the South Florida Invitational…showcased diverse talents by finishing seventh in the javelin event at the ACC Outdoors… Prep: All-state, all-region and all-city through all four years at Renaissance High School...participated in volleyball and basketball in addition to track and field...an honor roll student who was involved in numerous high school activities.
