Eight-Game Home Stand Begins Tonight As FSU Hosts Jacksonville

Tallahassee, Fla. - Florida State and Jacksonville meet for the second time this year as the Seminoles defeated the Dolphins 7-5 in Jacksonville back on April 2. The two teams split a two-game home and home set last year as each team won on their home turf.
In a series dating back to 1960, the Seminoles lead the all-time series 112-34, while maintaining a mark of 73-10 in games played at Dick Howser Stadium. Florida State is riding a 25-game win streak over JU on its home turf. The last Jacksonville victory in Tallahassee came on May 1, 1991 as the Dolphins won 7-4. During this streak, FSU has outscored JU 203-67 as the Seminoles have held the Dolphins to two runs or fewer 12 times including a pair of shutouts.
Florida State Seminole Baseball Information Against The Dolphins Tommy Oravetz led the Seminole offense in the win going 2-for-5 with two runs and an RBI. Tony Delmonico and Ohmed Danesh also registered two hits, while Holt reached base on a single and a hit by pitch. Mike McGee went 6.2 innings to run his record to 4-1 on the year. The freshman right hander gave up four runs, three earned, on six hits. He struck out four and walked a season-low one batter. Buster Posey pitched the ninth for his fourth save.
The Seminoles posted a 1.06 ERA against Jacksonville a season ago limiting the Dolphins to just two earned runs in 17 innings of work. Bo O'Dell started one game and got the win working six innings allowing one run on five hits while striking out three. Jimmy Marshall has three career appearances vs. JU working 5.1 innings in relief. He has not allowed a run while giving up just one hit in his career against the Dolphins. He has tallied three strikeouts.
Offensively, Buster Posey is a .355 (11-for-31) lifetime hitter against JU with nine runs, five RBIs and four doubles. In his first season, Jason Stidham went 3-for-9 with an RBI. In game number one this year, Stidham went 1-for-2 with a run, an RBI and two walks.

Wacky Wednesday Promotion The FSU baseball team invites fans out to another Wacky Wednesday promotion at Dick Howser Stadium this Wednesday when the Noles take on the Jacksonville Dolphins at 6pm. It's Chip Baker Day as we celebrate Chip and Julie's 17th wedding anniversary at the very location where the two tied the knot back in 1991. The first 300 fans shorter than Chip Baker at the ticket office will be admitted FREE! There will also be a special $2 concession menu offered to all fans.
