TALLAHASSEE, FLA. - Florida State returned home on Wednesday, March 26, with a doubleheader sweep against Georgia Southern on JoAnne Graf Field. The Seminoles are now 27-12 while the Eagles drop to 20-19.

Senior pitcher Tiffany McDonald threw a no-hitter as the Seminoles shutout the Eagles 8-0 in game one. McDonald struck out an impressive 11 batters and walked only one in the first win. The Belfair, Wash., native is now 11-3 on the season with a team leading 1.17 ERA and 114 strikeouts.

Two Seminoles went 2-for-3 in game one, sophomores Carly Wynn and Monica Montez. At the end of the night, Wynn was 4-for-6 with two runs, three RBI and a stolen base; she is now hitting a .353 average.

Continuing to lead FSU with her .338 batting average is senior Whitney Buckmon, who was 1-for-5, hitting a double, scoring one run, driving in an RBI and also picking up one stolen base at the end of both games.

Sophomore pitcher Terese Gober was awarded the win in game two, striking out seven Eagles and giving up three runs, two earned, on eight hits. Gober is now 8-6 with a 2.30 ERA on the season.

After two, Florida State scored 12 runs on 18 hits with 12 batters reaching base. Georgia Southern was held to eight hits and three runs, two earned, with 18 Eagles striking out.

The Seminoles will host another set of Eagles as ACC opponent Boston College travels to Tallahassee for a three-game series over the weekend. First pitch is set for 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 29, and can be viewed live on ACCSelect.com and through GameTracker on Seminoles.com.
